The Unconscious Saint TV Anime Announced

It has been decided that the light novel “The Unconscious Saint Unconsciously Drains Her Power Today” will be made into a TV anime, with Takahashi Rie playing the lead role of Carolina, Furukawa Makoto playing Edward, and Shiraishi Haruka playing Flora. A special PV announcing the decision to make the anime and a teaser visual have also been released.

The original work is a popular work (published by Earth Star Entertainment) that won the Encouragement Award at the 2nd Earth Star Novel Awards and has sold over 1 million copies in total. Carolina, the second daughter of the Duke of Sanchez, has been living an unfortunate life, compared to her older sister Flora, who is a candidate for sainthood and both intelligent and beautiful. One day, she receives a marriage proposal from Edward, the second prince of a neighboring country, who is rumored to be savage and cruel. Carolina accepts the arranged marriage to protect her country, but contrary to the rumors, she is properly evaluated by the gentlemanly prince and his new family, and gradually begins to recognize her, and it is discovered that she has a mysterious power. Meanwhile, Flora, who was left behind in the kingdom, is suffering from poor health. The book version is available in 4 volumes.

Takahashi plays Carolina Sanchez/Carolina Ruby Martinez, who has always been looked down upon by those around her as a failure, and has a modest personality with an inferiority complex, but after meeting Edward, she gradually becomes more positive. Furukawa plays Edward Ruby Martinez, the second prince of the Marchosias Empire, a clumsy but honest young man with a strong sense of justice. Shiraishi plays Flora Sanchez, who is hostile towards her younger sister Carolina for a certain reason and is a person who speaks cruel words to her. Takahashi and Furukawa will continue to play their roles from the comic book version PV released in 2023.

The trailer for the anime adaptation uses illustrations from the comic series by Eto Yona, which is serialized on the web comic site Comic Earth Star. You can hear newly recorded character voices for Carolina, Edward, and Flora. The teaser visual shows Carolina and Flora standing back to back in a rose garden where someone’s grave is located.

I never thought I would be involved in an anime adaptation so soon… I have already received the character design drawings, and I am looking forward to seeing these beautiful drawings move. Some of the characters I designed have been beautifully drawn, and I am happy and nervous at the same time, so my hands are shaking. The voice actors who will be playing the roles are Takahashi Rie and Furukawa Makoto, as in the manga PV. The PV was also amazing, so I am happy to see the two of them as Carolina and Edward in the anime. I can’t wait for it to air!
