New information on the second “Oshi Tabi x Gundam Series” collaboration between JR Central and the Gundam franchise has been revealed. Featuring Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, an original illustration of Kira and Athrun in flight attendant uniforms has been released.

A new visual for the second installment of the “Oshi Tabi x Gundam Series” has been unveiled.
Set in Osaka in 2025, the project will run for about five months, featuring three Gundam works as its theme and hosting various Gundam-related events during the collaboration period.
A special radio program, exclusively available on the Tokaido Shinkansen, will feature cast members as personalities delivering talks related to the Shinkansen. From May 16 to July 7, “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED” will be highlighted, with Soichiro Hoshi (Kira Yamato) and Akira Ishida (Athrun Zala) appearing.

Collaboration goods will be available at designated stores during the event. Items include original acrylic stands, trading badges, key visual acrylic panels, trading cards designed like Shinkansen tickets, and more.

“Mobile Suit Gundam SEED” is the first Gundam TV series produced in the 21st century, consisting of 50 episodes that originally aired starting in October 2002.
The story centers on the conflict between genetically enhanced humans (Coordinators) and regular humans (Naturals), who are divided between the military organization ZAFT and the Earth Alliance.
Amidst the escalating war, the series follows the struggles and growth of the protagonist, Kira Yamato, a Coordinator caught between the two sides.

In addition to its existing fan base, the series attracted a large female audience and achieved a peak viewership rating of 8.0%.
It also triggered a second Gundam model boom, especially among elementary school students, and captured worldwide attention as a “new-generation Gundam series.”

The sequel, the TV series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY, began airing in October 2004 and achieved a peak audience rating of 8.2%, surpassing the previous series.
It sold an astonishing 4 million packages in total, expanding beyond the realm of TV anime to become a nationwide phenomenon through music, events, and more.
The latest film, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, continues the story after SEED DESTINY, following Kira, Athrun, Shinn, and others as a new chapter unfolds in a world still torn by war.
