It has been decided that Shibata Yokusaru’s manga “Tanzaburou Higashijima Wants to Become a Kamen Rider” will be made into an anime, and a special trailer and commemorative visuals have been released. It has also been revealed that an anime production presentation will be held at “AnimeJapan 2025” to be held at Tokyo Big Sight on March 23rd.

The original work started in “Monthly Heroes” in 2018 and is currently being serialized on the manga site “Comiplex”. It is a “serious Kamen Rider play” manga by adults who love “Kamen Rider” too much, and is supported by Ishimori Productions and Toei. Tanzaburou Higashijima is serious about becoming Kamen Rider even at the age of 40, but just when he is about to give up on his dream, he gets caught up in a “fake Shocker” robbery case. The original manga is currently on sale up to volume 15.

The trailer, which features moving cuts from the original work, shows Higashijima, who has undergone extensive training, putting on the mask of Kamen Rider No. 1, transforming into his “real” form and unleashing a Rider Kick (flying kick) on a Shocker robber.

Shibata’s commemorative visual depicts Higashijima holding a Kamen Rider mask on his head, just like the covers of the first and thirteenth volumes of the original manga.

The anime production presentation “Shocker Attacks! Anime ‘Tanzaburou Higashijima Wants to Become Kamen Rider’ AJ Presentation” will be held at the Aniplex booth at “AnimeJapan 2025” from 1:05 pm on March 23rd. The cast for the main character, Tanzaburou Higashijima, will be announced, new information will be released, and a high-five session with Shocker fighters will be held.
