The key visual for the TV anime “Kaiju No. 8 (Season 2),” which will begin airing on TV Tokyo on July 19th, has been unveiled.
The key visual features Hibino Kafka (Kaiju No. 8), who is now part of the Defense Force’s 1st Unit, Shinomiya Kikoru, captain Narumi Gen, and Shinomiya Isao, the head of the Japan Defense Force and Kikoru’s father.

In addition, it has been decided that the spinoff “Hoshino’s Holiday”, which was shown at the same time as the first season of “Kaiju No. 8”, will be broadcast on TV Tokyo affiliates from 11:00 pm on July 5th. It will also be streamed live on Official X from the same time.
The work is based on a manga by Naoya Matsumoto, which is currently being serialized on Shueisha’s manga app “Shonen Jump +”. Set in Japan, where monsters have started to appear frequently, the story follows the protagonist Hibino Kafka, who has transformed into the powerful “Kaiju No. 8”, and his struggle to join the defense force while hiding his true identity and protect people’s lives. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2024, and the first season’s compilation was released in theaters on March 28th this year.
