“Utahime Dream”, a series covering famous songs from the Showa to Reiwa eras, will be made into a TV anime; a trailer video looking back on the series’ history has been released

The media mix music project “Utahime Dream,” in which 2D characters cover famous songs from the Showa to Reiwa eras, has been decided to be made into a TV anime. The trailer video has been released.
The “Utahime Dream” project started in 2023. In June of the same year, 12 characters and 6 cast members were announced, and in July, a public audition was held to decide the remaining 5 cast members. In November of the same year, the cast for the role of Hagiwara Himawari was announced, and the 1st live performance was also held. In 2024, she was in charge of the theme song for the TV anime “I’ll Parry Everything ~The World’s Strongest Reverse Misunderstanding Wants to Be an Adventurer~”. On February 5, 2025, the cast for the role of SAKURAKO was announced, and on the 24th, a total of 8 people held the 3rd live performance. Cover songs such as “Sailor Suit and Machine Gun,” “Get Wild,” and “Moonlight” have been released.
The anime version will depict the story of the girls who continue to sing the “Divine Comedy”, “Utahime”, who compete for the title of “Utahime Queen” using their singing and performance skills. All of the cast members will be continuing from previous project activities. Yamazaki Reina will play Yumesaki Ibuki, who has given up on her dream of joining an opera company and is embarking on a new path; Suzuki Anna will play Sakuragi Maika, the absolute queen who is attempting to become the first person in history to win the “Utahime Dream Grand Prix” for the sixth consecutive time and who is also renowned as the queen of anime songs; Sonohara Arisa will play Mashiro Kiyomi, who loves Showa pop music; Hana will play HiREN, a mysterious singer of heartbreak songs; Isobe Karin will play Mizuki Hikari, who was born in a small theater in Asakusa and specializes in revue shows; Sumi Tomomi Jena will play Takagi Rin, who lived in Hawaii until junior high school; Kurachi Reo will play Hagiwara Himawari, who is also active as a female professional wrestler; and Takeuchi Yume will play SAKURAKO, who has given up her status as the daughter of a wealthy family to work as a street musician.

It has also been decided that the 4th live concert will be held to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the project. At the concert, the unit “Utahime Dream All-Stars,” which is a gathering of the voice actors who appeared in the project, will sing the third new song, “I Don’t Need a Miracle.” The song, which will be released on CD, has been decided to be tied up with the TV anime that will start airing in the fall of 2025. In addition, a new project, “Fure Fure, Kimi no Haru” will start in March. The Utahime characters will collaborate with artists such as Inoue Sonoko and Hiiragi Yuka to cover songs such as “Aoi Bench,” “Seishun Photograph,” “Hikaru Nara,” “Kyou mo Sakura Mau Akatsuki ni,” and “Haruka.”
