The Yamishibai series, which has been running since 2013, is a work that depicts strange urban legends in a retro Showa-era style of Kamishibai. In the 15th season, an urban legend related to “Zan” is depicted.

The full text of comments from Tsuda, who plays the role of the kamishibai storyteller, Naoto Inti Raymi, who is in charge of the ending theme, and Norio Yamakawa, the illustrator and producer, is as follows.
[Kanji Tsuda (playing the kamishibai storyteller)]

Hello, this is Yamishibai Uncle. This is the 15th season. It’s amazing, it’s still going strong. It’s been on for more episodes than Mission: Impossible. The reason it’s lasted this long is because strange stories and paintings are two sides of the same coin, but the two don’t mix, they’re like oil and water, yes, they’re two sides of the same coin, and both are tsundere, which is what Yamishibai is all about. Now, let’s aim for the 100th season!… I might be dead by now though. Anyway, the theme this time is “There’s XX in leftovers.” Sorry if I’m wrong. Look forward to it!
[Naoto Inti Raymi (Ending Theme)]

This time, I will be in charge of the ending theme for the 15th season of Yamishibai, Naoto Inti Raymi. Yamishibai is reaching its milestone of 15th season. This year marks the 15th anniversary of my debut. I feel a strong connection and am very happy to be in charge of this song. I wrote this song with the image of Yamishibai in mind, paying close attention to the world view of the lyrics as well as the arrangement. m(_ _)m
I would be happy to be able to liven up the 15th season of Yamishibai with this song “Dutto” and to celebrate the long-loved series.
[Yamakawa Norio (artist & producer/TV Tokyo anime department)] I was feeling a little sad that the 14th season would be the end, but the creators said, “Let’s do the 15th season!” and came up with a lot of scary and interesting new ideas, so I will broadcast it while it’s still in season. Please enjoy “Yami Shibai 15th Season,” which was painstakingly created by the most terrifying creators, while it’s still warm.

Naoto Inti Raymi Joins the Series with New Ending Theme
Yami Shibai, the long-running horror anthology known for its eerie storytelling and paper theater-style animation, returns with its 15th season starting July 13. The biggest surprise this time is the involvement of singer-songwriter Naoto Inti Raymi, who will provide the ending theme—a notable shift from the series’ traditionally minimalist and chilling tone.
This collaboration may signal a subtle evolution in Yami Shibai’s format or emotional direction. Inti Raymi’s musical style, which often blends warmth and positivity, could provide a contrasting yet thought-provoking emotional backdrop to the otherwise grim narratives. As Yami Shibai continues to explore Japanese urban legends and psychological horror, this season could offer not just scares, but also unexpected emotional resonance.
