"Kaiju No. 8" Season 2 teaser PV released

A teaser PV for the second season of “Kaiju No. 8” has been released. The second and third admission bonuses for “Season 1 Compilation/Hoshino’s Day Off” have also been revealed.

A teaser PV for the TV anime “Kaiju No. 8 (Season 2)” which will start in July has been released. In addition, the second and third admission bonuses for “Kaiju No. 8 Season 1 Compilation” and “Kaiju No. 8 Hoshina’s Holiday”, which will be screened in theaters for three weeks only from March 28, have also been revealed.
The original manga by Naoya Matsumoto, which is currently being serialized on the manga app “Shonen Jump +”, is a popular battle action manga with a total of over 18 million copies in circulation in Japan. Set in Japan, which has become a monster powerhouse, the story follows the protagonist Kafka (Fukunishi), who once aspired to become a defense force but failed, one day transforming into the powerful “Kaiju No. 8”, and struggling to become a defense force member again while hiding his true identity. The first season of the TV anime was produced by Production I.G, with monster design and works handled by Studio Khara, and aired a total of 12 episodes from April to June 2024.

The teaser PV for the second season shows the Defense Force members after the final episode of the first season, in which Kafka was revealed to be Kaiju No. 8. It shows Kafka being organized into the 1st Squad, touted as “Japan’s strongest unit,” by order of the Defense Forces’ commander, Shinomiya Isao (Genda Tesshō), and the unit’s captain, Narumi Gen (Uchiyama), telling his subordinates, “Demonstrate your overwhelming strength.” Two character visuals for Gen have also been released.

The admission bonus for “Season 1 Compilation/Hoshino’s Day Off” is the second “Hoshino’s Day Off Flake Sticker Sheet” that will be distributed from April 5th to 11th. In addition to the key visual of Hoshina plotting something, and Reno and Iharu riding a motorcycle, the set includes 6 stickers with 4 secret designs. From April 12th, the third “Hoshino’s Day Off Hologram Sticker” will be distributed randomly in 5 designs. The designs include a scene of Hoshina laughing out loud, as well as 4 secret designs.

It has also been decided that “Kaiju No. 8 Anime x Game Joint Special” will be streamed on the official X and YouTube “TOHO animation channel” from 8pm on April 25th. Fukunishi, Kato, Kawanishi, and Seto Asami (who plays Ajiro Mina) will appear and announce the latest information on the game project “Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME”.

It has also been decided that the first season will be rebroadcast. It will start on TV Aichi from 2:05 a.m. on April 4, on TV Tokyo from 2:00 a.m. on the 7th, and on TV Hokkaido from 2:05 a.m. on the 8th.
