The first large-scale exhibition of Afro’s manga “Laid-Back Camp△” has been decided. The exhibition will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the series, and the Tokyo venue will be held at Tokyo Solamachi from November 15 to 24, 2025, and the Osaka venue will be held at Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store from January 28 to February 9, 2026.

The manga “Laid-Back Camp△” began serialization in “Manga Time Kirara Forward” (Houbunsha) in May 2015, and has been serialized on Houbunsha’s official manga app “COMIC FUZ” since 2019. It depicts the daily life of high school girls as they deepen their friendship through camping. The comics have sold over 10 million copies in total in 2024, and have also been made into a TV anime and a live-action drama.

The 10th anniversary exhibition will look back on the 10-year history of “Laid-Back Camp△” with a focus on manga manuscripts and color illustrations. In addition, many original goods will be sold at the event.

Details of the exhibition and comments from Afro are as follows.

[Afro’s comment] It’s been 10 years since the serialization of “Yuru Camp△” began. Initially, I was hoping that it would continue for about 4 volumes, but with the support of the camping boom, it has been made into an anime and a drama, and the 20th volume is soon in sight. This time, we are holding a “Yuru Camp△” exhibition to commemorate the 10th anniversary, so I hope that both those who have been reading it since the beginning of the serialization and those who have just started reading it will enjoy it.

Celebrating a Decade of Cozy Camping Adventures

The upcoming large-scale exhibition in Tokyo and Osaka marks a significant milestone for Yuru Camp△, celebrating ten years since its serialization began. Over the past decade, the series has evolved from a quiet slice-of-life manga into a beloved cultural phenomenon, known for its calming atmosphere, scenic settings, and heartwarming portrayal of friendship.

This exhibition not only serves as a nostalgic look back for long-time fans but also introduces new audiences to the charm of solo and group camping through detailed artwork, storyboards, character goods, and interactive exhibits. Holding the event in both Tokyo and Osaka reflects the nationwide love for the series and its message of slow-paced, meaningful experiences in nature.

As the anime industry increasingly leans toward flashy action or emotionally intense narratives, Yuru Camp△ reminds us that tranquility and simplicity can resonate just as deeply. The 10th anniversary exhibition is a fitting tribute to a series that has quietly inspired many to seek their own camping adventures — or at least a moment of peace.
