On May 11th, a stage event for the upcoming TV anime Material Collector’s Travels in Another World, set to premiere in October, was held at Machi★Asobi Vol.28, a multi-purpose event in Tokushima City. Popular cosplayer Tsukune Tsukimi and promotional producer Kazuki Yanase appeared on stage.
The anime is adapted from a light novel by Masuo Kinoko and follows office worker Takeru Jingu, who is reincarnated into a world of swords and magic. Using his unique exploration skills to uncover valuable items, he embarks on a journey across this fantastical world.
Cosplayer Tsukune Tsukimi
Tsukune Tsukimi appeared dressed as Elf Brolight, a character from the series. She collaborated with a professional to create the costume, referencing the original character design materials. She mentioned that the most challenging part was “collecting the materials” for the red equipment.
Promotional producer Yanase shared a story about how the original author, Kinoko, met Tsukimi at AnimeJapan 2025 in March and was so moved by the perfection of her cosplay that she was brought to tears.
A promotional video exclusive to Machi★Asobi was screened on stage, and the audience was given time to take photos of Tsukimi in her cosplay. Visiting Tokushima for the first time, Tsukimi said she was surprised by the excitement at the venue and smiled warmly at the audience throughout the event.
Machi★Asobi Vol.28 runs through May 11th.
