The theatrical anime “Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie,” which depicts the origins of “Jujutsu Kaisen,” has been decided to be screened again from October 17th. The official trailer and newly drawn key visuals have also been released.
The film is an animated version of “Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School,” a prequel to “Jujutsu Kaisen.” The story tells the “story of love and curse” of the protagonist Yuta Okkotsu (CV: Megumi Ogata) and his childhood friend Rika Inorimoto (Kana Hanazawa), who became a vengeful spirit after being involved in a traffic accident. It also depicts the aftermath of Gojo Satoru (Yuichi Nakamura) and Geto Suguru (Takahiro Sakurai), who have parted ways about 10 years after “Kaitama-Tamaori.” It was released in December 2021 and was a huge hit, grossing 13.8 billion yen at the box office.
The key visual, drawn by production team MAPPA, depicts Okkotsu holding his sword as if to protect the young Rika, and Inorimoto Rika, a special-grade cursed spirit, gently embracing the two of them.
The trailer starts with a view of Gojo and Geto from behind when they were still at technical college. It depicts the outcome of the choices the two make, Okkotsu’s struggle as he suffers from his own curse, Rika’s fully manifested form, and the fierce battle with Geto, who shakes up the world of Jujutsu by drawing in his technical college classmates during the parade of one hundred demons.
