The theme song for the Netflix stop-motion animation series “My Melody & Kuromi,” starring Sanrio’s popular characters My Melody and Kuromi, has been decided to be “Kawaii (Prod. Gen Hoshino)” sung by the five-member girl group “LE SSERAFIM.” This is the first collaboration between the two, produced by Gen Hoshino. A portion of the soundtrack was unveiled for the first time in the trailer.

This series depicts an adventure story set in Maryland, where My Melody and Kuromi live. The director is Tomoki Misato, an up-and-coming creator who attracted attention with “PUI PUI Molcar,” which he wrote, wrote, and directed. This is the first stop-motion animation masterpiece from “TORUKU,” a stop-motion studio launched within the animation production company “WIT STUDIO.”
My Melody opens a cake shop in Maryland, where everyone lives happily. The sweets she makes with her friends Flat-kun and Piano-chan are very popular, and the shop is crowded with customers every day. Meanwhile, Kuromi’s Japanese sweets shop across from My Melody’s shop is always empty, and Kuromi spends her days searching for a way to beat My Melody’s shop. One day, My Melody comes across a pink heart in the forest, and strange events begin to occur in Maryland.

The trailer shows My Melody having fun making cakes with her friends, smiling brightly as she is surrounded by customers, Kuromi showing a jealous look on her face, and the two of them facing a crisis that suddenly befalls Maryland.
LE SSERAFIM, who will be performing the theme song for this film, is a five-member girl group consisting of KIM CHAEWON, SAKURA, HUH YUNJIN, KAZUHA, and HONG EUNCHAE. They debuted in May 2022 and are currently touring the world on their first world tour, “2025 LE SSERAFIM TOUR ‘EASY CRAZY HOT'”. Loved by fans all over the world, LE SSERAFIM, who has both cuteness and coolness like My Melody and Kuromi, is sometimes healing and sometimes courageous, which is why they decided to team up.
