The domestic weekend box office rankings for May 2–4 (provided by Kogyo Tsushinsha) have been announced. Despite three new entries, Detective Conan: Flashback of the One-Eyed Man claimed the top spot for the third consecutive week. Over the three-day holiday, it drew 969,000 viewers and earned 1.422 billion yen. As of May 6, the film surpassed 10.4 billion yen in total revenue with 7.26 million tickets sold. This marks the third straight Conan film to break the 10 billion yen milestone, following 2023’s Submarine of the Black Iron (13.88 billion yen) and 2024’s One Million Dollar Star(15.8 billion yen).
To celebrate the release, a Seven-Eleven campaign began on April 29. Fans who add the official Seven-Eleven LINE account can download 16 original character stamps from the movie.
Minecraft: The Movie remained in second place. The new entry Thunderbolts debuted at No. 3, followed by #I’llTellYouTheTruth at No. 4.
In fifth was Tabekko Animals THE MOVIE, a 3DCG adaptation of the beloved animal-shaped biscuits by Ginbis, first released in 1978. A stage greeting was held on May 5 in Tokyo, featuring voice actors Ari Ozawa, Inori Minase, Nao Toyama, Fumihiko Tachiki, and Tomokazu Seki, along with 10 costumed animal characters. “Sweets Land Boxes” are being distributed as a first-entry bonus.
The new release Ura Shain. Let Me Spy debuted at No. 6, while Hanamanma took seventh place. Pope Election climbed to eighth, Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Picture World Story landed in ninth in its ninth week, and Wicked: The Two Witches rounded out the top ten.
