It has been decided that “Gintama: The Final Chapter – Be Forever Yorozuya 4DX”, a 4D version of the Gintama anime series, will be released on August 22nd, and “Gintama THE FINAL 4DX” will be released on November 14th. The first three admission bonuses for each film have also been announced.

The original Gintama is a popular comedy manga written by Sorachi Hideaki and serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (published by Shueisha) and other magazines from 2004 to 2019, with over 73 million copies of the book (including digital editions) published worldwide. The first season of the TV anime aired in 2006, and a total of four seasons have been produced by 2018. The “Gintama 20th Anniversary Project” is currently underway, and the spin-off novel “3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei”, an anime adaptation of the series, is scheduled to air from October this year. The second animated film, “Gintama: The Final Chapter – Be Forever Yorozuya,” was released in 2013, and the third, “Gintama: The Final,” was released in 2021.

“Gintama: The Final Chapter – Be Forever Yorozuya 4DX” will be distributing the “Revival Trilogy Film as a Gift to Visitors” from August 22nd to 28th, a reproduction of the admission bonus from when it was released in 2013, the “Main Visual 4DX Poster (A4)” from August 29th to September 4th, and the “Teaser Visual 4DX Poster (A4)” from September 5th.

Beloved Farewell Returns to Theaters with Revival Bonuses

The re-release of Gintama: The Final Chapter in 4DX on August 22nd, followed by Gintama: The Final on November 14th, is more than just a nostalgic encore—it’s a celebration of the franchise’s enduring popularity. By offering 4DX immersive effects and special admission benefits such as revived bonus items, the producers are clearly aiming to bring fans back to theaters with a fresh yet familiar experience. This move also reflects a wider trend in anime films where fan engagement is extended through premium re-releases and theatrical events. Expect longtime fans to show up in droves—this isn’t just a rerun, it’s a revival.
