“Detective Conan: Afterimage of the One-Eyed” to be screened simultaneously in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, and 4D; large format promotional video and visuals released

It has been decided that the latest Detective Conan movie, Detective Conan: Afterimage of the One-Eyed Man, will be released in IMAX, MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema. It will be screened on April 18th, the same day as the regular version. This brings the number of theaters showing the movie to 522 (including 384 regular theaters, 55 IMAX theaters, 12 MX4D theaters, 62 4DX theaters, and 9 Dolby Cinema theaters), exceeding last year’s 515, making it the largest-scale release in the history of the Detective Conan movie (number of theaters is tentative).

In addition, a specially drawn visual for promotional goods was also announced. The visual, titled “Afterimage Visual,” features 10 people, including Conan, Kogoro Mori, and the Nagano Prefectural Police, all dressed in purple checks, Kogoro’s image color, making it a rare visual that is not featured in the main story.

Theatrical version “Detective Conan: Afterimage of the One-Eyed” Whiteout PV [Released on Friday, April 18th]
The 27th movie in the series is set in the snowy mountains of Nagano, depicting “past and present incidents” and approaching the “sleeping memory” that connects the sleeping Kogoro and Yamato Gansuke of the Nagano Prefectural Police. Gansuke was chasing a man in the snowy mountains when a rifle bullet grazed his left eye and he was caught in an avalanche. 10 months later, Gansuke miraculously survives and receives a report that a researcher at Nobeyama Observatory has been attacked by someone, so he rushes to the scene, but as soon as the observatory’s parabolic antenna starts moving, his left eye, which has become one-eyed, suddenly begins to tingle. Meanwhile, Kogoro Mouri and Conan are on their way to meet a former colleague from the Metropolitan Police Department who is investigating the avalanche incident, but on the way there they hear a gunshot.
“Detective Conan: Afterimage of the One-Eyed” will be released on April 18th.
