Additional support screenings of the revived Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train will take place at seven theaters across Japan on May 24 at 7:00 PM. These “cheering screenings” allow fans to bring glow sticks and penlights, cheer out loud, and fully immerse themselves in the experience. This follows the success of a similar event held on May 18. New participating theaters include TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro (Tokyo), alongside previous locations such as TOHO Cinemas Hibiya and Shinjuku, Midland Square Cinema (Nagoya), and others. A special instructional video featuring Kyojuro Rengoku (voiced by Satoshi Hino) explaining the rules of the cheering screenings is now available.

In addition, to commemorate the upcoming release of the Infinity Castle Arc theatrical anime (starting July 18), a free streaming initiative titled Demon Slayer Every Day will begin on May 22. From May 22 to June 16, one episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 1 (Tanjiro Kamado: Unwavering Resolve Arc) will be available daily at 6:00 PM on the official Aniplex YouTube channel. Note that episodes will only be viewable for 24 hours, with no archive available. Streaming schedules for later arcs will be announced soon.

Glow-stick cheer events and free episodes stoke excitement ahead of the Infinity Castle Arc

Ufotable and Aniplex are deploying a two-pronged fan-engagement strategy. First, the nationwide “cheering” screenings on May 24 tap into Japan’s growing appetite for participatory cinema—turning a four-year-old box-office juggernaut into a live event where glow sticks and call-and-response chants transform passive viewing into a communal festival. By adding Ikebukuro, a hub for anime tourism, the organizers widen access while concentrating hype in the capital.

Second, the “Demon Slayer Every Day” campaign leverages YouTube’s zero-barrier reach to reacquaint casual viewers with season 1 just in time for the theatrical Infinity Castle Arc (premiering July 18). The 24-hour availability window creates urgency, encouraging nightly appointment viewing that mimics broadcast TV and keeps the franchise trending on social media. Together, these moves refresh the fandom’s emotional investment and funnel both nostalgic and first-time viewers toward the new trilogy, effectively turning content that already recouped its costs into nonstop promotional fuel.
