Noriko Hidaka, Yuko Minaguchi, Kikuko Inoue, Miki Ito, and Rei Sakuma have been confirmed to appear in the TV anime “Turkey!”, which began airing on July 8th. The second PV and third key visual have also been released.
The original anime is a collaboration between Tatsunoko Production’s new label BAKKEN RECORD and Pony Canyon. It was announced as a “story of the end of summer, losing and fighting, losing and fighting, and then winning,” about five girls, including Mai Otonashi (CV: Kana Hishikawa), who are members of the bowling club at Ichikokukan High School in Nagano Prefecture, but at the end of the first episode, the members of the bowling club time travel to the Sengoku period.
The cast announced this time will play the members of the “Tokura family” that Mai and her friends meet in the Sengoku period. Hidaka plays the princess of the family, Sumomo, who is friendly and curious, Minaguchi plays Akebi, a mysterious character who always wears a fox mask, Inoue plays Suguri, the head of the family who puts his country and family first and is loved by the people, Ito plays Anzu, Sumomo’s sister who is very competitive, and Sakuma plays Natsume, a free spirit who has been away from home for a long time as a traveling entertainer.
The second PV, which features the song “Summer’s Residence” by Yanagi Nagi, features the members of the Tokura family with voices. It shows Mai and her friends who have traveled back in time to the Sengoku period, a time of brutal conflict, interacting with the members of the Tokura family and eventually making up their minds to change their cruel fate. The third key visual shows the five bowling club members and the members of the Tokura family engulfed in flames.
In conjunction with the start of the broadcast, the opening theme song “Hyakunichisou” was also released digitally. The song is sung by the five members of the bowling club.
The full comments from the cast are as follows:
[Hidaka Noriko (voice of Kotobuki Momo)]

I can’t believe I got to play a princess from the Warring States period! What’s more, the sisters were played by close friends of the same generation, so the recording was a lot of fun. I hope you’ll watch as the princesses and the high school girls grow closer to each other.
[Yuko Minaguchi (voice of Shuka)]

I was looking forward to the start of the broadcast of “Turkey!”. I wanted many people to see the story of these dazzlingly straightforward girls. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to take part in this series as Shuka.
[Inoue Kikuko (role of Ketsuri)]

I feel humbled to be playing the role of the dignified sword-wielding Keiri. The surprising story and brilliance, the bonds that span the ages, and the heartbreaking emotions have touched my heart many times! It’s a wonderful piece, so I hope you’ll watch it through to the end!! [Ito Miki (Imamyu)]

I was able to be involved in a wonderful production. It’s a tale of the end of summer that is ticklish, sad, thrilling, and anxious, but also very warm. I hope you enjoy watching the adventures of these charming girls!
[Sakuma Rei (role of Natsumu)]

The story unfolds in ways that far exceed expectations, and I think you’ll become more and more drawn in with each episode. The way the girls face themselves, stand up to their problems, and grow is refreshing, and it reminds me of the great power of belief.
