Due to scheduling reasons, the May 16 broadcast of the Nippon TV anime The Apothecary Diaries (airs Fridays at 11:25 PM) has been suspended. Instead, a special episode of The Apothecary Diaries will be streamed for free on ABEMA’s Anime LIVE Channel.

The Apothecary Diaries is a “mystery-solving entertainment” series that follows Maomao, the daughter of a pharmacist with an unusual obsession with poisons and medicine, and Jinshi, a mysterious and handsome eunuch, as they tackle a series of difficult cases within the palace. The original story is written by Natsu Hinata, with illustrations by Touko Shino.

The special will feature the first male-focused episode in the series, starring Takeo Otsuka as Jinshi, Katsuyuki Konishi as Gaojun, and Ryumaru Tachibana as Ma Sen. Additional new characters, to be announced at a later date, are also scheduled to appear.
