Synopsis
When it was discovered that the emperor’s favorite concubine, Princess Gyokuyo, was pregnant, Maomao returned to her role as a poison taster at the Jade Palace. She spent her days on guard to ensure that the same incident would not occur again, targeting the empress and the emperor’s child. A new concubine, Princess Loulan, whose father was a senior vassal from the previous emperor’s time, entered the palace, an unprecedented unsolved case was put in question on Jinshi’s life, and the suspect Suirei disappeared. As the uneasy atmosphere continued, a caravan from a foreign country and even a special envoy with unreasonable demands arrived. More dark clouds began to gather in the palace. A new difficult case awaited Maomao and Jinshi. These events eventually develop into a major incident that will involve the entire country.
