The original work by Makura Sho (original author) and Okano Tsuyoshi (manga) is an occult battle manga that was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” (published by Shueisha) from 1993 to 1999 and boasts a total of 29 million copies in circulation. The story depicts the new teacher at Domori Elementary School, Nueno Meisuke (nicknamed Nube / CV: Okiayu Ryutaro), who fights against evil spirits and monsters that attack his students using his rare psychic powers and his left hand (the demon hand) that seals away demons. The sequel, “Hell Teacher Nube Kai,” is currently being serialized in “Saikyō Jump,” and “Hell Teacher Nube Kai PLUS” is being serialized on the web manga app “Jump+.” In this anime adaptation, Morikawa Toshiyuki will reprise the lead roles of Okiayu and Tamamo Kyosuke from the TV series that aired from 1996 to 1997.

In the first half of this second PV, where you can hear the voices of the main characters, the song “P0WER – Evil Spirits Banishment” plays, and it shows scenes of monsters such as “Hatamomba” and “Teketeke” attacking students. The second half plays “Himawari” and includes a battle scene with the fox spirit Tamamo, and Nube fighting to protect the students. The new visual shows Nube, who has released the seal of the demon’s hand, clashing with Tamamo holding a sasukita.
The full comment from the theme song artist is as follows.
[Mikoto (Zigzag) (Opening Theme Song)]

When the idea for this came up, I really wanted this to happen, because I thought there couldn’t be another band that would fit this worldview better! So when it was decided, I was so happy I was shaking. I wrote this song with the image of Nube’s coolness, and with themes of universal kindness and courage. I personally have a special attachment to the opening song from back then, so I playfully incorporated some of that element☆
[Chilli Beans. (Ending Theme)]

The first image that came to mind was the atmosphere of walking home from school in the evening. After watching the anime, I was conscious of the strong side of the teacher who is devotedly protecting his students when it came to the sound! The lyrics are written from the students’ perspective, depicting their pure feelings of trust in their strong teacher! This song is also new for “Chilli Beans.” I would be happy if it was an ending that fits the vast and imposing worldview of the anime “Hell Teacher Nube”! I hope it makes the students a little more positive about the promise to see each other again tomorrow! Thank you!

Zigzag and Chilli Beans. bring fresh energy to the legendary ghost-teaching series
The revival of Hell Teacher Nube with a new PV and key visuals is a nostalgic delight for long-time fans and a gateway for a new generation to discover the supernatural charm of the series. The choice of theme song artists is particularly intriguing—Zigzag’s theatrical flair combined with Chilli Beans.’ youthful vibe suggests a mix of classic horror and modern pop. This balance may help the anime stay true to its roots while appealing to a wider audience. It will be interesting to see how the new adaptation balances the dark, emotional depth of the original with today’s animation trends and expectations.
