The weekend anime movie rankings are in, and Doraemon: Nobita’s Earth Symphony continues its impressive run, claiming the No. 1 spot for the fifth consecutive week. Meanwhile, Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle – Side B.B & M.T.C has officially crossed the 1 billion yen mark, marking a major milestone for the franchise. Here’s a breakdown of this weekend’s top anime films and what makes them stand out.

[Weekend Anime Movie Rankings] Doraemon Holds No.1 for 5 Straight Weeks, Hypnosis Mic Surpasses 1 Billion Yen

The domestic movie rankings for the weekend of April 4–6 (based on nationwide box office data from Kogyo Tsushinsha) have been announced. Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Picture World Story remains at No.1 for the fifth consecutive week. The film drew 263,000 moviegoers over the three-day weekend and earned 323 million yen. To date, it has attracted over 3.17 million viewers and has grossed more than 3.7 billion yen at the box office.

Wicked: The Two Witches also held steady at No.2. Coming in at No.3 was the newly released film Unrequited Love, while When It Cries in Deliciousness followed in fourth place. Rounding out the top five was Snow White at No.5.

Meanwhile, Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle made a big comeback, climbing from 10th place last week to 6th in its seventh week in theaters. As Japan’s first interactive movie, its unique format—where audience votes at each theater impact the results of the rap battles—has continued to fuel excitement. So far, the film has drawn over 440,000 viewers and has officially surpassed 1 billion yen in total box office revenue.

To celebrate its 7th week, special admission bonuses have been distributed: an original illustration CLEAR CARD by Kazui (available in three versions: Buster Bros!!!, MAD TRIGGER CREW, and Fling Posse), handed out randomly since April 5.
