It has been decided that “Princess Knight is a Barbarian’s Bride,” a TV anime adaptation of Kotobanoriaki’s fantasy manga, will start airing in the fall. It has been revealed that Suzushiro Sayumi will play the main character Seraphina de Ravilant, and Inomata Keiji will play her partner Weor. Kana Hishikawa and Aki Toyosaki will also appear. The cast announcement PV and the first key visual have been released.
The original work, which is currently being serialized in “Bessatsu Shonen Magazine” (published by Kodansha), depicts Seraphina, the “princess knight” who is said to be the strongest in the Kingdom of Ildren, who is defeated by barbarians and taken prisoner. During the days when the barbarian king Weor fervently proposes to her, she broadens her perspective by learning about his true nature and different cultures, and gradually changes. The latest 9th volume of the book will be released on April 9th.
Suzuyo plays Seraphina, the youngest daughter of the Margrave Ravilant family of the Kingdom of Ildren, and the commander of the First Knights of the Eastern Conquest Army known as the “Crystal Helmet.” Inomata plays Veor, the eldest son of the great chieftain who unites the region known as the “Barbarian Lands,” and a carefree and open-minded man with the nickname “Thunder Voice.” Hishigawa plays Ceci, Veor’s attendant who looks after the captured Seraphina, and Toyosaki plays Alyssa Marcias, a military priest of the Calendar Church who regards Seraphina as a deity.

The cast announcement PV features the first anime footage. The four characters announced this time appear with voices, and includes a scene in which Seraphina is proposed to by Veor. The first key visual shows Seraphina blushing as Veor picks her up, against the backdrop of a night sky with three shining moons.

I’m Suzushiro Sayumi, and I will be playing the role of Seraphina de Ravilant! When I first read the original work, I was first drawn in by the cover and wondered, “What kind of situation is this!?” How will Sera, who has risked her life for her country, change after meeting Veor? From the urgent atmosphere to the comical scenes, you won’t be able to take your eyes off it from many angles, and before you know it, you’ll be hooked. Combined with the touch of the drawings, the power of each scene is simply incredible…! I will be playing the role of Veor. My name is Inomata Keiji! I haven’t had many opportunities to play large, incredibly strong characters, so I was very happy when I was chosen for the role. The character I will be playing, Marcias, is a priest for the Conquering Army and a fanatical follower of Lady Seraphina. I think the contrast between his madness due to love and his pure and serious side is what makes him so appealing. I would like to portray his infatuation with Lady Seraphina in a way that is both grotesque and charming.
