Dead Account Anime to Air Jan 2026

“Dead Account,” a TV anime adaptation of Shizu Watanabe’s manga, is scheduled to air from January 2026. A key visual featuring the main characters and the first trailer have been released. Additional cast members have also been announced, including Natsuki Hanae, Machico, Ryota Suzuki, and Takuya Sato.

Numerous stills from the first trailer have also been released.

This modern-day exorcism battle action film begins when Enishiro Souji, a former controversial streamer, awakens to his digitalized spiritual powers, “Denno,” and enrolls in Miden Gakuen, a school that trains new-age spiritual mediums. Nobuhiko Okamoto plays Souji, while Kouki Uchiyama plays Kasubata Kukuri, a student in Class 1B to whom Souji transfers, and Fairouz Ai plays Urusugawa Kiyomi.

The additional cast members include Hanae as Hasumi Renri, another student in Class 1B, Machico as Haijima Hiyori, Suzuki as Emoto Naruhiko, and Sato as homeroom teacher Azaki Yoimaru. The character voices were revealed for the first time in the first trailer.

TV Anime “Dead Account” First PV | Broadcast Begins January 2026 on TV Asahi Networks

“Dead Account” will air every Saturday at 11:30 PM starting January 2026 on the “IMAnimation” slot on 24 TV Asahi affiliates nationwide. The official account (@DDAC_WM) is running a giveaway campaign until August 6th to win an autographed illustration card by Hanae.

[Natsuki Hanae (Renri Hasumi)]

I’m Natsuki Hanae, who plays Hasumi. He’s a kind and cheerful character, but he also has a quiet, mature, and elusive quality that makes him uniquely charming. I focused on how to express that in my performance. The worldview, which captures the current era of smartphones and social media, was also very impressive, and I empathized with the real emotional turmoil of the characters living there. Look forward to the broadcast!

[Machico (as Hiyori Haijima)]

I play Hiyori Haijima, a socially awkward gamer girl who is usually very quiet, but when she possesses Yaden Academy’s official character, “Denmi-chan,” she becomes incredibly high-spirited! My challenge was to portray that contrast in an entertaining way. Each character’s powers and their backgrounds are also part of the fun! Please check it out!

I will be voicing a man who appears frivolous but is actually timid, yet possesses a warm heart and courage for his friends. I’m Takuya Sato, the voice of Tsurugi Yoimaru. I play the role of a teacher among a stellar cast. It was a learning experience for me, but the recording was free and I felt a sense of responsibility for being entrusted with the role of Tsurugi-sensei. It was a happy experience on set.
