The original work is a slapstick detective comedy manga by Masakuni Igarashi, currently serialized in Dengeki Maoh(published by KADOKAWA). Keiichiro Nagamo (voiced by Junichi Suwabe) is a dull, middle-aged detective who was once a famous high school sleuth but has since fallen behind the times. One day, a high school girl named Mashiro (voiced by Kana Hanazawa), who dreams of becoming a detective, visits his office hoping to become his assistant. Together, the unlikely duo takes on a variety of cases. The anime adaptation will feature a carefully curated selection of the manga’s most popular episodes.

Fairouz Ai voices Azuha Hoshino, a college student living below the agency who calls herself a “science agent” and spends her days developing shady inventions. Misaki Watada voices Kaze-chan, a lost girl found by Mashiro. Yasuyuki Kase plays Souya Mimasaka, a former high school detective with a long history with Nagumo who now works as a police inspector, and Hajime Iijima voices Mashiro’s muscular coach, known for his ever-present sunglasses. Kawanishi reprises his role from the 2021 voice comic adaptation, while Fairouz Ai returns from the 2023 TV commercial for the original manga.

Comments from the additional cast members—Kengo Kawanishi, Fairouz Ai, and Taiiku Okazaki—have also been released.

[Kengo Kawanishi (voice of Nezu Taro)

When I was offered the role, I thought, “Wait, have I done this before?”—and it turned out to be from a voice drama I had worked on previously! I never imagined it would be adapted into an anime. The story is delightfully outrageous right from the first episode, and my character Nezu’s best feature—according to him—is his long legs. I think it’s a series that will make both longtime fans of the original and newcomers through the anime laugh out loud, so I hope you’ll check it out!

[Fairouz Ai (voice of Hoshino Azuha)]

It’s a high-energy, fast-paced series! Among all the characters, Azuha really stands out with her unpredictable behavior and quirky lines—she definitely shakes things up! She’s completely out there! While she’s a bit of a handful, she also has this strange charm that makes you not want to get too close, but you can’t look away either. I hope everyone has fun watching!

[Misaki Watada (voice of Kaze-chan)]

I was really excited for the recording sessions, thinking, “The day has finally come for me to say Kaze-chan’s lines from the original work!” ♪

What I love most about Kaze-chan is her rebellious and cheeky attitude, along with her rough way of speaking—but at the same time, she has such a genuine and innocent side. I truly adore her and feel honored to play her. As a fan of the series myself, I’m also looking forward to the broadcast. Please be sure to tune in! ☆

[Yasuyuki Kase (voice of Souya Mimasaka)]

I’m Yasuyuki Kase, and I play Souya Mimasaka. This time, I’m voicing a detective who’s a childhood friend of Keiichiro Nagumo. Things get a little chaotic… lol. It’s been a while since I’ve worked on something so full of comedy. I hope you enjoy watching it at home!

[Hajime Iijima (Coach)]

I’m Hajime Iijima, and I voice the Coach. He’s a mysterious, bald, and muscular foreign trainer. His best moment? That would definitely be “the advice he gives to Mashiro” in one of her flashback scenes—lol. If you find any favorite or cute moments involving the Coach, I’d love to hear about them!

[Taiiku Okazaki (Opening Theme Song Artist)]

Hey, it’s Taiiku Okazaki! Yay! I’m doing the theme song!

Detectives exist to solve cases—so if the world becomes too peaceful and there are no more mysteries to solve, detectives will be out of work… and I won’t get to do theme songs either! I’ll be out of work too! That’s the worst! I’ll starve!! I don’t want to starve!! Aaaah!!
