The original work is currently being serialized on Ichijinsha’s manga site “Ichijin Plus (Comic Yurihime)”. Set in a world where everyone can use magic, it depicts the harsh daily lives of girls who attend a school that raises orphaned children to be weapons of war. At a school where everyday life is always close to death, 14-year-old Totsuki Sheena is unable to accept her situation, and one night she meets a girl named Kagari Mimi covered in blood. The pilot film is a two-minute video that hints at the worldview and human relationships of the work. The teaser visual shows Mimi, covered in blood and looking towards us, surrounded by colorful flowers.
At “AnimeJapan 2025”, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight on March 22nd and 23rd, the work will be exhibited at the Infinite Inc. booth. Scenes and original drawings from the pilot film, original drawings by Aono Nachi, costumes that reproduce the uniforms worn by characters in the work, etc. will be on display, and venue-exclusive novelties will also be distributed.
Full comments from the cast, staff, and original author are as follows.
[Takahashi Rie (Totsuki Sheena)]
Congratulations on the anime adaptation of “You Die”…! It all started with our connection in the promotional video for the release of the fourth volume, and now I’m able to celebrate this happy news with you all, and my heart is filled with gratitude, blessings, and honor. I hope that the charms of this work can be delivered to many people who have yet to see it. And I would be delighted if all the fans of “You Die” who have continued to support us all this time would continue to watch over us so that we can run through the world that you cherish. Please continue to support the “You Die” anime!
[Hidaka Rina (role of Kagari Mimi)]
Congratulations on the anime adaptation! It’s been almost four years since I first encountered Mimi. As this is a work that holds many memories for me, I’m not only very happy to be able to continue playing Mimi, but also very happy as a fan that the anime adaptation was decided. I was in contact with Takahashi Rie, who plays Sheena, right away, and we shared our joy together! I’ve felt the passion of the fans of the original work for a long time, so I’ve been looking forward to this day of announcement. I’ve reread the original work many times, and will cherish my role as Mimi. Please look forward to the broadcast.
[Ishikawa Yui (Maud Ali)]
Congratulations on the anime adaptation of “I Want to Love You Until You Die”! Following on from the PV celebrating the release of the 6th volume, I am very happy and excited to be playing Ali. When I first read the original work, I felt that the characters were so lovable, but at the same time, it was also sad because death is always so close, and I felt a very precious feeling in me. I would like to empathize with Ali’s feelings, who is somewhat philosophical and difficult to fully understand, and play her with all my heart. Please look forward to the broadcast.
[Seto Asami (role of Lizzy Ceylan)]

Congratulations on the anime adaptation. I first encountered the original manga when I voiced Seiran in the PV celebrating the release of volume 6. The story is very delicate, and watching the girls filled me with sadness. I think the world of the original will be carefully depicted in the animation “You Die”. I would like to face Seiran once again and play the role.
[Kakuchi Takudai (Director)] I thought that this must be the moment when a sense of justice emerges when I come into contact with the characters of the original work. I’m sure that after meeting Mimi, Sheena began to see Seiran, Ali, and her former friends in a completely different light. The dark atmosphere that flows throughout the work may be the result of the power of the girls that has not yet been put into words or actions and has not yet taken shape? I would like to visualize it from the perspective of these girls who are desperately trying to live. I hope that many people will watch it!
[Hanada Jukki (Series Composition/Script)] In a world where death is always close by, Sheena, Mimi, Seiran, and Ali come together and connect with each other. I wrote this hoping to convey well the relationship and feelings that are neither friendship nor love. I hope you will enjoy it.
[Hashimoto Yukari (music)] “A beautiful, sad, gentle, and cruel story.” That was my first impression when I read the original work. The delicate and beautiful illustrations deeply convey the fleeting feelings of Sheena and Mimi, and the girls living on the battlefield. The emotions and bonds of each of the girls intertwine, and my heart trembles every time I read it. I want to weave music that is close to the girls who shine despite their wounds, and that embraces their hopes and sorrows. I wish I could express feelings that cannot be conveyed in words through music.
