The second season of the TV anime “Cuckoo’s Fiancee” has been announced to start broadcasting in July this year, and it has been revealed that Hitsujimiya Hina will appear as an additional cast member. In addition, the teaser PV, teaser visuals, and staff have also been released.

The original is a romantic comedy by Yoshikawa Miki, currently serialized in “Weekly Shonen Magazine” (published by Kodansha). Although born on the same day, Umino Nagi (CV: Ishikawa Kaito) and Amano Erika (Kitou Akari) were switched as babies and grew up without knowing their real parents. As they become engaged and live together, Nagi’s younger sister Sachi (Kohara Yoshimi) and classmate Segawa Hiro (Toyama Nao) get involved. The first season of the TV anime will be broadcast in 2022, and in the second season, the “love square” surrounding Nagi develops into a “pentagon” with the arrival of her childhood friend, who was her first love. The original manga is currently on sale up to volume 26, and the latest volume 27 will be released on April 16th. Hitsujimiya, who was announced as an additional cast member, appears to be acquainted with Nagi and will play Mochizuki Ai, a girl who appears at Uminotei for the first time in 10 years.

The teaser PV depicts the cohabitation life under the same roof with narration by Nagi and Erika, and also includes footage of Hitsujimiya’s Ai reminiscing about her long absence at Uminotei.

TV anime “The Cuckoo’s Fiancee Season 2” teaser PV | Broadcast begins in July 2025!
The staff includes director Hishida Masakazu of “Dokujitsu Kata”, series composition by Aoba Yuzuru of “My Instant Death Cheats Are So Overpowered, No One in the Other World Stands a Chance Against Me,” and character design by Chika Kyoko, who has participated in “Ensemble Stars!”. Music by Ishizuka Rei, sound director Konuma Noriyoshi will continue from the first season, and animation production by Okuruto Noboru of “The Unpopular Job [Appraiser] Was Actually the Strongest.”
The teaser visual, created by character designer Chika, depicts the new character Ai getting in between Nagi and Erika.

The ending theme song has been decided to be “Anata de nakucha” (It Has to Be You), and will be sung by the digital voice actor idol group “22/7”. The song is also included in the teaser PV, and digital advance distribution started on April 7th.

While the story has the atmosphere and pace that is typical of Ai-chan, I was also drawn in by her cute smile and cool performance when it mattered, and I became more and more fascinated with Ai-chan as I read on. I will do my best to bring out the best in Ai-chan. I hope you will look forward to the series!
[Hishida Masakazu (Director)] The original work is very interesting, so I would like to bring out its charm to the fullest. I hope you will look forward to seeing what kind of noise and drama the character Ai, who appears in this series, will cause from the love square between Nagi, Erika, Hiro, and Yuki. We are really happy to be involved in such a wonderful work as “The Cuckoo’s Fiancee” by singing the ending theme. “It Has to Be You” is a song about the complicated feelings of a young girl who is aware of her love for the other person but is unable to express her feelings honestly. The melody and lyrics are rare for a title song of “22/7”, but we sing it with the feeling that we are speaking on behalf of the love of the characters in “The Cuckoo’s Fiancee”. All the members are looking forward to the anime starting to air!
