An original A5 visual card will be given as a special gift to attendees of the fifth week (starting April 11) of the currently screening animated film “Mononoke: The Movie – Chapter 2: Fire Rat.”
This exclusive card features the Medicine Seller and the ritual following the exorcism of the Mononoke known as the Fire Rat. The artwork captures a peaceful moment with the Fire Rat, evoking a sense of salvation. The card will be distributed in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis at participating theaters.
“Mononoke” is an original anime series that follows a mysterious man known as the Medicine Seller, who investigates and exorcises supernatural beings born from human emotions and grudges. The story originated from the “Bakeneko” arc in the 2006 anthology series Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales, and later developed into its own TV series in 2007.
The theatrical adaptation is planned as a trilogy. The first film, “Mononoke: The Movie – Karakasa,” was released in July 2023, and the final installment, “Mononoke: The Movie – Chapter 3: Snake God,” is set to premiere in spring 2026.
