The anime film Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie Over the Rainbow (originally released in 2019) will be screened in 4DX for the first time with a limited two-week run starting on July 4, 2025. It will be shown at 61 theaters nationwide, and a new key visual, trailer, and theater information have also been revealed.

Synopsis
Aqours, the school idol group from Uranohoshi Girls’ High School, won their final “Love Live!” competition. As the second- and first-year students prepare to transfer to a new school, a series of unexpected troubles arise!

Love Live! Sunshine!! Series Overview
Love Live! Sunshine!! is the second installment of the Love Live! franchise, a multimedia project based on the theme of “a story everyone can make come true,” where nine high school girls become school idols and pursue their dreams. The first season of the TV anime (13 episodes) aired in July 2016, followed by the second season (13 episodes) in October 2017. The anime film was released in January 2019. Various initiatives are also underway in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture—the story’s setting—to promote the area’s attractions.

About Aqours
Aqours is a nine-member school idol group featured in Love Live! Sunshine!!. They appeared at the 69th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen in 2018 and held solo concerts at Tokyo Dome twice, in 2018 and 2022. In 2023, they also performed at the “Ijigen Fes Idolmaster Love Live! Uta Gassen” event, also held at Tokyo Dome. On June 30, 2024, they will celebrate their 9th anniversary and are currently working on a new project, the “Aqours 9th Anniversary Eternal Hours Project,” which includes various events such as the “Finale Live,” their final solo concert as the original nine-member group.
