“Urudr Hunt” is a short anime that was released within the app “Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans G,” which was distributed from 2022 to 2024. It is a spin-off work that shares the same world as the main series “Iron-Blooded Orphans,” which aired from 2015 to 2017, and depicts the story of Wisterio Afam (CV: Ikoma Rina), a young boy who dreams of turning Venus, which has become a penal colony for criminals, into a tourism-oriented nation, as he pilots the Gundam, Hashirakuboshi, in the “Urudr Hunt,” a race with a huge prize pool.

In the new short film “Intermission Wedge,” the original staff of “Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans,” including director Tatsuyuki Nagai and screenwriter Mari Okada, reunite to reveal the missing link between the first and second seasons of the series. After completing their mission to protect Kudelia and making a name for themselves during the battle surrounding the Arbrau representative nomination election, Tekkadan continues to seek to expand their organization, even resorting to forceful tactics. Seeing their leader, Orga Itsuka (Yoshimasa Hosoya), struggling with an unfamiliar job, Mikazuki Augus (Kengo Kawanishi) and other members of the group come up with an idea.
The main visual for “The Journey of a Little Challenger” and the 10th anniversary special trailer have also been released. The main visual features Wisterio, Cornal Kosa (Ueda Reina), who serves as the Urdr Hunt’s guide, and Katchua Inosy (Tanaka Minami), whom Wisterio and his companions meet during their journey, as well as the Gundam Hajimei and the Urdr Hunt Ring, a key item that guides them. The 10th anniversary special PV includes new scenes of Wisterio and Gundam Hajimei from “Urdr Hunt,” and Mikazuki and Gundam Barbatos from “Intermission.”
Advance movie tickets (1,800 yen) featuring the main visual from “The Trail of the Little Challenger” are on sale at each screening theater and elsewhere. Animate Online Store will also be accepting preorders for a limited edition version (2,350 yen) that comes with a limited A5 clear file from August 29th.

[Ikoma Rina (Wisterio Afam)]

Congratulations on the 10th anniversary of “Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans”! I am grateful to have been able to be involved in this work through Wisterio. Ikoma, who plays the role, was overwhelmed by the grandiose worldview, but I was able to do my best thanks to the growth of Wisterio. I hope you will also enjoy “Urudr Hunt.”
[Kasai Kengo (voice of Mikazuki Augus)]

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the broadcast of “Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans,” and Tekkadan will be returning to you all in the form of “Intermission.” When I heard this, I was filled with both disbelief and joy. I am so happy to be able to meet all of you who have continued to follow us as Tekkadan again. To mark the 10th anniversary, we will first be showing a new story in theaters called “Intermission,” but I have heard that there are still many other things planned, so I am just as excited as everyone else. So, I hope you will celebrate the 10th anniversary of “Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans” in style and have fun and get excited together with us!

Celebrating a Decade of Iron-Blooded Orphans with New Stories
The announcement of a brand-new short film for the 10th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphansmarks a significant moment for fans of the series. Pairing this short film with the special edition of Urdr Hunt not only enhances the viewing experience but also creates a bridge between the main TV series and its spin-off story.
This release could serve multiple purposes—commemorating the original series, reintroducing its themes of survival and human bonds, and sparking renewed interest in the franchise. It may also hint at future expansions of the IBO universe, as anniversaries often pave the way for fresh projects, merchandise, or even sequel hints. For long-time fans, this is both a nostalgic trip and a potential preview of what’s to come.
