The original work has been serialized on Kodansha’s manga app “Magazine Pocket” since March 2022. In a world where 12 magical traits exist, corresponding to the 12 constellations, Spica, an apprentice witch who cannot use magic, meets Claude, a mysterious black cat who can use human language and magic. Their shared interests lead to a master-disciple relationship: Spica wants to get into the magic school of her dreams, and Claude wants Spica’s powers to lift the curse that transformed him into a cat. The latest volume, volume 12, will be released on August 7th.

When I heard from my editor that “Neko Majo” was going to be made into an anime, I was torn between excitement and anxiety: “Will Claude’s * be broadcast nationwide!?” However, I was blessed with a wonderful staff and actors, and now I can only look forward to the broadcast! I’m looking forward to spending these festive days with everyone again in this second anime adaptation!

I’m Kaede Hondo, and I’ll be playing Spica. When I voiced the character in the promotional video, I was touched by the charm of this work and truly hoped to play Spica again. I’m thrilled that this wonderful work is being adapted into an anime, and I couldn’t be happier to continue playing the role. Thank you for your continued support!

I never thought I’d be entrusted with a role that combines the roles of teacher and mascot (?). I’m happy and honored, and feel like I’ve somehow managed to achieve my goals. I’m looking forward to working closely with Claude to create a fun classroom for everyone. Thank you very much!
[Naoyuki Tatsurin (Director)] Celebrating the anime adaptation! Spica and Claude’s magical world unfolds in animation. We are currently creating an iconic world woven by magic. Look forward to intense action scenes with monsters, magical attacks, comedy, cuteness, and coolness in everyday life.
[Midori Goto (Series Composition)] Simply put, this is a story about Spica’s courage and hard work causing the seed of magic to sprout and bloom into a magnificent flower. One after another, unique students appear, and it’s endlessly entertaining! It’s a fun work packed with the kind of student life you’d want to experience, with occasional tears, nail-biting battles, and fun shopping with friends, so I hope you enjoy it.
[Onoda Takayuki (Character Design)] I’ve cherished the master-disciple relationship between Spica and Claude, as well as the bonds they share with their friends, and poured delicate emotion into the characters’ expressions and gestures. I hope you can feel their growth and the changes in their relationships through the designs.
