The original TV anime “Apocalypse Hotel,” produced by CyberAgent and Cygames Pictures, is scheduled to begin airing in April, and a promotional video and key visual have been released. It has also been revealed that Saho Shirasuna will play the role of the main robot character, Yachiyo.

Additionally, the ending theme will be aiko’s new song, “Capsule.” As previously announced, the opening theme is “skirt,” a track from aiko’s 16th album, “Zanshin Zansho,” released in August 2024. It has now been revealed that aiko will be performing both the opening and ending songs.

This film is set on Earth, many years after humanity has vanished. The Ginza hotel “Gingarou,” still in operation, is led by the hotelier robot Yachiyo, and the robot employees in each department await the owner’s return and the time to welcome humanity back. Yachiyo and his team have been working tirelessly in a hotel with no guests for what seemed like an eternity, but a small miracle is about to occur.

Yachiyo, played by Shirasuna, is a diligent and hardworking hotelier robot. As acting manager, he strives to keep his promise to the owner while seeing off his friends who have stopped functioning over the years.

The trailer shows Yachiyo entrusting the hotel to the owner, who tells her, “I’ll be back soon. I’m leaving the hotel in your care until then.” She also shows Yachiyo working hard to protect the hotel, believing that the owner and guests will one day “return.”

Comments from Shirasuna and aiko are below.

[aiko (Opening and Ending Themes)]

I’m incredibly happy to be in charge of both the opening and ending songs this time! I sang “Skirt,” expressing how this might be what a robot would feel if it had blood flowing through its veins, and “Capsule” expresses how memories of loved ones never fade, even when the batteries run out. I’ll be singing along with all the staff at Apocalypse Hotel, believing in the owner’s promise.

[Shirasuna Saho (role of Yachiyo)]

I’m Shirasagi Saho, and I’ll be voicing Yachiyo. Ever since I saw the audition materials, I had been hoping to be involved, so I was really happy when I found out I’d been chosen. Yachiyo, the character I’ll be playing, is a hotelier robot who works at a hotel where humanity has disappeared. As this is an original work with no original source material, I was excited to see how the story would unfold, and I jumped at the chance to receive the script every week. There are still many mysteries surrounding this series, so please keep an eye out for updates as you look forward to the broadcast.
