“The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4” to begin airing in July; Otsuka Takeo and Saito Jiro to play the demi-humans of Siltwelt; first event for the series “Shield Fest” to be held

The TV anime “The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4” will start broadcasting in July, and it has been revealed that Otsuka Takeo and Saito Jiro will appear. The latest visual has also been released. It has also been decided that the first event for the series, “Shield Fest,” will be held.
The Rising of the Shield Hero is a TV anime adaptation of the fantasy novel of the same name (published by KADOKAWA) serialized by Aneko Yusagi on the novel submission site “Let’s Become a Novelist.” The story follows college student Iwatani Naofumi (CV: Ishikawa Kaito), who is summoned to another world as the “Shield Hero” but is betrayed by his companions, as he confronts the crisis of the world with his companions, including the demi-human girl Raphtalia (Seto Asami). “Season 1” was broadcast in 2019, “Season 2” in 2022, and “Season 3” in 2023.
In “Season 4,” after Raphtalia is perceived as a potential heir to the throne by the country of Qutenrou and assassins are sent to her, Naofumi travels to Siltvelt, the only demi-human country with a ferry to settle things with the country. While Naofumi is warmly welcomed by the demi-humans who worship the Shield Hero, Raphtalia is elevated to the status of a revolutionary figure in Qutenrou, which is facing political instability.

Otsuka plays Valnar, the representative of the Shusaku species (bird demi-humans), one of the top four species in Siltvelt, and Saito plays Jalaris, the representative of the Lion species (lion demi-humans). Valnar is very loyal to Naofumi, and tries to delay his departure with political rhetoric to keep him in the country, while Jalaris is in political conflict with Valnar and tries to contact Naofumi on his own initiative.

The latest visual shows Naofumi and his party, as well as Valnar and Jalaris welcoming them in Siltveld, and includes the copy “Revered yet w(e)ary.”

The “Shield Fest” event will be held on June 15th at the Shibuya Cultural Center Owada Sakura Hall in Tokyo. In addition to Hidaka Rina (who plays Ishikawa, Seto, and Filo), Hara Natsuko (who plays Rishia), Matsuoka Yoshitsugu (who plays Amagi Ren), and Takahashi Makoto (who plays Kitamura Motoyasu), the series’ theme song artists “MADKID” and Fujikawa Chiaki will also be appearing. Tickets are priced at 8,000 yen, and Ticket Pia is accepting applications for the fastest lottery.
It has also been decided that “Season 3” will be rebroadcast on TOKYO MX and BS Nippon TV from April 9th.
