The TV anime “Tougen Anki,” which began airing its first season, “Kyoto Arc,” in July, will enter its second season, “Nerima Arc,” with the episode airing on October 3rd. New cast members for the second season include Atsushi Tamaru, Haruki Ishitani, Chiharu Sawashiro, Junichi Toki, Shintaro Asanuma, and Yuki Ono. The fourth promotional video and key visual have also been released.
The original work, serialized in “Weekly Shonen Champion” (Akita Shoten) by Yuuki Urushibara, is a popular dark hero manga series that has sold over 4 million copies. Based on the fairy tale “Momotaro,” the story follows the protagonist, Shiki Ichinose (voiced by Nozomi Urawa), a descendant of demons, who joins the “Demon Agency” to avenge her adoptive father and fights against the “Momotaro Agency,” a group of Momotaro’s descendants. There are currently 25 volumes of the book published.

Tamaru will play the calm and collected Yodogawa Masumi, captain of the Oni Agency’s Nerima Ward Reconnaissance Unit; Ishitani will play Namiki Kaoru, her long-time vice captain who has supported Masumi; Sawashiro will play Momoiwa Shinya, the ambitious captain of the Momotaro Agency’s 21st Unit; Toki will play Momodera Mikado, the vice captain who befriends Shiki without realizing she is a demon; Asanuma will play Momoka Tsukuyomi, captain of the 20th Unit in charge of Nerima Ward who places absolute importance on fortune-telling; and Ono will play Momokado Osuke, the battle-crazed vice captain.

In addition, the opening theme song will be “Amida Jin” by vocalist Cho Gakusei, and the ending theme song for the Nerima arc will be “ACTION” by singer-songwriter eill. The official website also features comments from both artists.
The fourth promotional video, depicting the meeting between Shiki and Kamikado, features voice acting for new characters from both the “Oni Kikan” and “Momotaro Kikan.” It also includes excerpts from the audio of “Amida Jin” and “ACTION.” The fourth key visual depicts Shiki and Kamikado facing each other while praying for each other’s survival.

It has also been announced that a “Nerima Premiere” (pre-screening of the Nerima Arc) will be held on October 5th at United Cinema Toshimaen, located in Nerima Ward, Tokyo, where the “Nerima Arc” is set. In addition to screenings of episodes 13-15, there will also be a talk show with Ura and Toki. Advance ticket applications are being accepted until September 15th.
It has also been revealed that additional cast members will appear at a special event to be held at Wako Civic Cultural Center on December 13th: Tamaru, Toki, Asanuma, Ono, Iwami Manaka as Byobugaura Hoki, Sakata Shogo as Yabuki Ikari, Miura Kai as Jyojutsu Rokuro, and Manami as Sazanami Suikei. Other cast members already announced include Nishiyama Kotaro as Ura, Kougasaki Jin, Kamiya Hiroshi as Mudano Mujin, and Kimura Ryohei as Oiran Saka Kyoya. A ticket priority sales application coupon will be included in the first volume of the Blu-ray, which will be released on October 8th.
