The release date for the second theatrical anime film of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime”, “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Blue Sea”, has been set for February 27, 2026, and a teaser trailer and the first key visual have been released.

The original work is a fantasy novel by Fuse, which was published on the novel submission website “Let’s Become a Novelist”. It depicts a former salaryman who is reincarnated as a slime named Rimuru Tempest (CV: Okazaki Miho) and struggles with his friends such as Benimaru (Furukawa Makoto) and Shion (M.A.O) to build an ideal country. The first season of the TV anime aired in 2018, the second in 2021, and the third in 2023, and the fourth season is also scheduled to be produced. In 2022, the first theatrical anime “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Crimson Bonds” was released.

The teaser trailer shows Rimuru and his party enjoying a resort island invited by Heavenly Emperor Elmesia (Kanemoto Hisako) of the Sorcerer Dynasty Sarion, as well as Rimuru confronting something with the narration saying, “It looks like something terrible is going to happen this time too.” The first key visual shows Rimuru and Gobta (Tomari Asuna) setting out to sea, along with the mysterious woman Yura and Heavenly Emperor Elmesia, and is accompanied by the tagline, “At the moment of awakening, a blue prayer connects feelings.”
