The opening theme for “My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON” has been decided to be “THE REVO” by Porno Graffitti. A new PV featuring an excerpt from the song has also been released.
The band also performed “THE DAY,” the opening theme for the first season of “My Hero Academia.” They commented, “Nine years after the opening theme for the first season of the anime, we’ve been given the opportunity to perform the opening theme for ‘My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON.’ We hope that this song will inspire the characters who strive to turn the impossible into possible, as well as the viewers.” The opening theme, “THE REVO,” features lyrics on the theme of “revolution within the mind,” with a simple yet passionate melody. The promotional video, which includes a snippet of the song, captures the final battle between protagonist Deku and Tomura Shigaraki, the most vicious villain in history who has become the embodiment of destruction. Shigaraki tries to destroy everything, but Deku sees the “crying boy” within him—Shigaraki as a child—and attempts to save his heart even in the midst of the deadly battle.

The My Hero Academia anime series is based on the manga by Kohei Horikoshi, which ran in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2014 to August 2024. Set in a world where approximately 80% of the population possesses supernatural powers known as “quirks,” the series follows the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya (Deku), who inherited All Might’s quirk “One For All,” as he and his friends strive to become the greatest heroes. The first season of the anime aired in 2016, and the seventh season concluded in October 2024.

The eighth and final season, “FINAL SEASON,” begins with the story from Volume 40 of the original manga, and follows the battles between Deku and Shigaraki, and All Might and All For One, as they reach their conclusion.
“My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON” will air every Saturday at 5:30 PM on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV (excluding some regions) on 29 stations nationwide starting October 4th.
