The second season of the figure skating-themed TV anime “Medalist” will air on TV Asahi’s “NUMAnimation” block on 24 stations nationwide starting in January 2026. A teaser promotional video and teaser visuals have been released. It has also been announced that an event will be held in collaboration with the figure skating broadcast.

Numerous stills from the teaser trailer have also been released.

The original work by Tsurumai Ikada is currently being serialized in “Afternoon” (Kodansha). One day, former figure skater Tsukasa Akeuraji (voiced by Takeo Otsuka) meets Inori Yuizuka (voiced by Natsumi Haruse), a girl with aspirations of becoming a figure skater. Taking on the role of coach, Tsukasa grows as a coach alongside Inori as she blossoms into a glorious medalist. The first season of the anime aired from January to March of this year. In the second season, Inori, now qualified to compete alongside the renowned prodigy Hikaru Kamisaki (voiced by Kana Ichinose), competes in the Chubu Regional Tournament, where she will compete in the All-Japan Novice Championships.

The teaser trailer features Inori and her teammates enthusiastically competing in the Chubu Regional Tournament, where a swarm of rivals compete for just five spots. The teaser visual features Inori standing on the skating rink, accompanied by the tagline, “We’ll shine brighter than anyone else.” Images of Inori and Tsukasa in their new costumes were also released.

The collaborative event with the figure skating broadcast will be held at 1pm on August 14th at the TV Asahi Roppongi Hills SUMMER FES, which is being held in Roppongi, Tokyo. In addition to Haruse and Otsuka, professional figure skater Akiko Suzuki, who has been in charge of the figure skating choreography since the first season, and Shuzo Matsuoka, the main caster of TV Asahi’s Figure Skating Grand Prix Series/Final, will also be appearing. Admission is free, and a lottery for a “Summer Ticket” (2,000 yen) with priority admission is open until August 3rd.
