“Kingdom” Season 6 to Air in October — New Visual of Shin Holding Ouki’s Spear Unveiled
The sixth season of the TV anime Kingdom will begin airing on NHK General TV starting this October. A newly released visual features protagonist Shin holding the legendary spear once entrusted to him by the great general Ouki, accompanied by the powerful tagline: “The one who inherited Ouki’s spear.”
The main production staff returns from previous seasons, including director Kenichi Imaizumi, series composition by Noboru Takagi, character design by Tsune Abe, and music by KOHTA YAMAMOTO and Hiroyuki Sawano. 3DCG is produced by Dandelion Animation Studio, with overall animation by Studio Pierrot and Studio Signpost.
Based on Yasuhisa Hara’s bestselling historical manga, Kingdom is set in ancient China during the Warring States Period and follows the rise of Shin (voiced by Masakazu Morita), a young boy striving to become a great general, and Ei Sei (voiced by Jun Fukuyama), the future First Emperor of Qin.
The anime has seen consistent success since its first season aired in 2012, with each season covering major arcs such as the Allied Forces Arc (Season 3), Domestic Unification Arc (Season 4), and the Kokuyou Hill campaign (Season 5). In Season 6, the long-awaited battle against Zhao begins. Qin’s military strategy is spearheaded by an alliance of three generals: Ousen (CV: Kenyuu Horiuchi), Kanki (CV: Kentaro Ito), and Yang Duanhe (CV: Mie Sonozaki).
Rising commanders Shin, Moten (CV: Yuji Nojima), and Ouhon (CV: Yoshimasa Hosoya) will lead their own units and play pivotal roles in the battle. Season 6 marks a turning point as Shin takes to the battlefield wielding the iconic “Ouki’s Spear.”
