The Japanese-style romance fantasy novel “Kekkaishi no Ichirinka” has been adapted into a TV anime. The main staff and teaser visuals have been announced.
The original work (published by KADOKAWA) by Kureha, known for “Demon’s Bride,” is a popular series with over 2 million copies in circulation. Set in Japan, a place protected from enemies by five pillar stones since ancient times, the story follows Ichinose Hana, born into a branch family of magicians who protect the pillar stones, as she strives to live her true self. Ever since childhood, Hana has been bullied and compared to her talented twin sister. One day, she suddenly awakens to a powerful power, but she hides it in her desire for a peaceful life. One day, Ichinomiya Saku, the young head of the main family, sees her power and forcefully pressures Hana into marriage. The latest volume, volume 6, will be released on August 25th.
The film will be directed by Kitahata Toru of “Hinako Note,” with character design by Murayama Minami of “Overtake!” (animation director, among other roles), and series composition and scriptwriting by Kakihara Yuko of “Urusei Yatsura.” Animation production will be handled by TROYCA, the studio behind “ATRI -My Dear Moments-” and “Idolish Seven.”
The teaser visual shows Hana and Saku illuminated by moonlight amidst falling cherry blossom petals.
