The new TV anime adaptation of Hell Teacher Nube is set to premiere on July 2 at 11:15 p.m. with a special one-hour broadcast featuring the first two episodes. Following the premiere, the series will air weekly every Wednesday at 11:45 p.m. on the nationwide TV Asahi network’s “IMAnimation W” programming block. The series will be split into two cours, with the second cour scheduled to begin in January 2026.
Originally created by Sho Makura (story) and Takeshi Okano (art), Hell Teacher Nube is a beloved occult horror manga that ran in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 1993 to 1999 and has sold over 29 million copies. The story follows Meisuke Nueno (voiced by Ryutaro Okiayu), a 5th-grade homeroom teacher at Domori Elementary School, who protects his students from supernatural threats using his left hand—the “Demon Hand”—which contains a sealed demon.
The anime was first adapted for television in 1996, and this latest installment will see Okiayu and several other original cast members returning to reprise their roles.
An advance screening of Episodes 1 and 2 will be held on June 7 at TOHO Cinemas Ueno in Tokyo, starting at 5:00 p.m. The event will feature a stage greeting by lead voice actor Ryutaro Okiayu. Tickets cost 2,500 yen, with advance lottery ticket sales available on Ticket Pia from May 12 to 18.

It has also been announced that the manga Hell Teacher Nube PLUS will begin serialization on Shueisha’s manga app Shonen Jump+ starting May 14. While Nube continues to protect the students of Class 5-3, the story will delve into mysterious events that have secretly been unfolding in Domori Town.
In addition, a new manga titled Hell Teacher Nube Kai will begin serialization in the June issue of Saikyō Jump, on sale from May 2. This series follows Nube as he travels through time and space to save the students of Class 5-3, who have been drawn into a world of ghost stories.
Both new series are original works created by the longtime duo Sho Makura (writer) and Takeshi Okano (artist), who also created the original Hell Teacher Nube manga.
