Singer Akina Nakamori has been confirmed as a guest voice actor for the currently airing TV anime “Rascal the Raccoon.” The character Nakamori will play will appear in episode 13 (June 26th on Yomiuri TV, June 28th on BS Nippon TV) and episode 18 (July 31st on Yomiuri TV, August 2nd on BS Nippon TV).
The series is an official spin-off anime of “Rascal the Raccoon,” the third installment of the “World Masterpiece Theater” series, which mainly adapts classic world literature into TV anime. In stark contrast to the original, the story is set in the Tama branch of the secret society “Rascal the Raccoon,” which reigns as the number one company in the world and aims to conquer the world. It depicts Akakaru (CV: Jun’ya Enoki) and his team as they work hard at their missions despite their unrewarding days of poor sales and stagnant salaries.

Nakamori plays the character of a national idol VTuber vocalist who charms fans with her cute looks and singing voice. She shares a commonality with Nakamori, being from Kiyose City, Tokyo, and she also sings in the show. Nakamori, who is trying her hand at voice acting for the second time, said, “When I was in elementary and junior high school, I often looked after the children in the neighborhood. I think I know how to make children happy, so I hope I can act in a way that makes everyone happy.” The program’s official SNS will also be posting a video of her comments after the dubbing.
