Shochiku <9601> announced that the anime movie “Project Sekai: The Broken World and Miku Who Can’t Sing”, which has been released nationwide since January 17th, has attracted over 1 million viewers as of March 25th. The box office revenue has reached 1.28 billion yen.
The original work is the app game “Project Sekai Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku” (commonly known as “ProSeka”), which is popular among a wide range of people and depicts the story of boys and girls finding their “true feelings” and “their own song” in the setting of “Shibuya”, a city with a thriving subculture centered on music, and “Sekai”, a mysterious space where people’s “true feelings” are reflected. In this work, a new “Hatsune Miku” that does not appear in the game meets the characters of “ProSeka” and grows up, and the story is drawn as a completely original story by animation studio P.A.WORKS.
