“Cat’s Eye” will be released on Disney Plus from September, with Mikako Komatsu, Ami Koshimizu, Yumiri Hanamori as the three sisters and Takuya Sato as Toshio.

The completely new anime “Cat’s Eye” will be exclusively distributed on “Disney+” from September, and it has been revealed that Komatsu Mikako, Koshimizu Ami, Hanamori Yumiri, and Sato Takuya will appear in the film. A teaser trailer and teaser visuals have been released.
Komatsu will play Kisugi Hitomi, the second daughter who is a headstrong character and central to the three phantom thief sisters, Koshimizu will play Kisugi Rui, the eldest daughter who uses her sharp mind to lead the operation, and Hanamori will play Kisugi Ai, the third daughter who is good at machines and IT. Sato will play Utsumi Toshio, a detective at Inunaki Police Station who pursues Cat’s Eye but is involved in a love affair with Hitomi, unaware that she is a phantom thief.
The original is a love comedy manga about phantom thieves by Hojo Tsukasa, which was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” (published by Shueisha) from 1981 to 1984. It depicts the three beautiful sisters who own the cafe “Cat’s Eye” as they run through the city at night in pursuit of various works of art as part of the elusive Cat’s Eye gang of phantom thieves. It was made into a TV anime by Tokyo Movie Shinsha (now TMS Entertainment) from 1983 to 1985, and this latest anime will be remade with a completely new cast.

The director is Sueda Yoshifumi of “High School DxD HERO”, the script is by Mori Hayashi of “SAND LAND: THE SERIES”, and character design and general animation director is Yabumoto Yosuke of “The Hero Died!”. The production is by LIDEN FILMS, the studio behind “Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story”.
The teaser trailer, which features a cover of the theme song “CAT’S EYE” by Ado, starts with the scene where the phantom thief Cat’s Eye descends on the streets of Tokyo overlooking the Skytree. The trailer includes voiceover footage of the three sisters’ daily life at the coffee shop and Toshio, who is desperately pursuing the phantom thief Cat’s Eye. Two teaser visuals have been released, one depicting the three sisters working at the coffee shop during the day and the other depicting them operating as phantom thieves at night, with the same composition.
