Demon Slayer: Mugen Castle Arc Chapter 1 Surpasses ¥28 Billion, Ranks 3rd in Japan’s All-Time Box Office
The latest audience numbers and box office revenue for “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Castle Arc Chapter 1: Akaza Returns” were officially announced on the film’s website.
As of 11:30 AM on August 25, the film has drawn 19,825,555 viewers and earned a total of ¥28,087,694,600 in the 38 days since its release. With this achievement, it has surpassed James Cameron’s legendary film Titanic (¥27.77 billion), securing the position of the third-highest-grossing film of all time in Japan.
About Demon Slayer
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a dark fantasy battle manga created by Koyoharu Gotouge, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2016 to 2020.
Set in the Taisho era, the story follows Tanjiro Kamado (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), a kind-hearted boy whose sister Nezuko is transformed into a demon. Determined to restore her humanity, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps and faces off against the terrifying demon lord Muzan Kibutsuji (voiced by Toshihiko Seki).
