“Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Walpurgis no Kaiten” has been scheduled for release in February 2026. A trailer and the second key visual have also been released.
The film is the movie version of the original TV anime “Puella Magi Madoka Magica” that aired in 2011. It depicts the battle between Kaname Madoka (CV: Aoi Yuki), who became a “Magical Girl” in exchange for having her wish granted, and the “Witches” who are a threat to the world, and the harsh fate that awaits them at the end. In 2012, the movie anime “Puella Magi Madoka Magica [Part 1] The Beginning Story” and “Puella Magi Madoka Magica [Part 2] The Eternal Story”, which were re-edited versions of the TV series, were released, and in 2013, a completely new film “Puella Magi Madoka Magica [Part 3] The Rebellion Story” was released.
“Walpurgis no Kaiten” tells a new story as a legitimate sequel to “Rebellion”. The trailer, which uses cuts from the film, features Akemi Homura (Saito Chiwa) talking about “Walpurgis Night”. The second key visual shows Madoka and Homura reaching out to each other with the copy “The world will not forgive her”, and behind them you can see other magical girls and new characters.

Sales of movie ticket cards using the second key visual have also started. As a bonus, a special clear file (A4 size) featuring the same visual is included. The price is 1600 yen.

In addition, it has been decided that “Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Beginning Story/The Eternal Story TV Edition”, a re-edited version of the animated films “The Beginning Story” and “The Eternal Story”, will be broadcast. Starting in October, it will be aired on 28 MBS/TBS affiliated stations nationwide at 5pm on Sundays. Details such as the first broadcast date will be announced at a later date.
