The final chapter of the TV anime My Hero Academia, My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON, will begin airing on October 4th at 5:30pm on 29 stations nationwide affiliated with Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV. The key visual has also been released.
The original work by Horikoshi Kohei is a hero action manga that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (published by Shueisha) from 2014 to 2024. Set in a society where everyone has special abilities called “quirks,” a boy born without a quirk, Izuku Midoriya (nicknamed Deku/CV: Yamashita Daiki), inherits the powerful quirk “One for All” from his idol, the number one hero All Might (Miyake Kenta), and enrolls in the prestigious hero training school, U.A. High School. The story depicts him and his classmates fighting fierce battles against villains who abuse their quirks. A total of seven seasons of the TV anime were broadcast between 2016 and 2024, and four theatrical anime films were also produced. The spin-off manga “Vigilante – My Hero Academia ILLEGALS” was also made into a TV anime from April to June this year.
“FINAL SEASON” depicts the final battle between heroes including Deku and villains led by Shigaraki Tomura (Uchiyama Koki) and All For One (Otsuka Akio/Kamiya Hiroshi). Deku uses the full power of One For All, and Shigaraki fully awakens after absorbing the consciousness of All For One, who tried to take over his body. The battle then comes to a conclusion between All For One himself, who has rejuvenated and regained the power of his prime, and Armored All Might, who is quirkless but wears a powered suit.
The key visual shows Deku raising his fist at Shigaraki and All Might wearing an armored suit and facing off against All For One, accompanied by the catchphrase that symbolizes the work, “This is the story of how we became the greatest heroes.”
