“GROTESQQQUE” Trilogy by Nishigori Set for 2026

It has been revealed that the original animated film “GROTESQQQUE” directed by Atsushi Nishigori, which was reported to be produced in 2024, will be a work consisting of three parts, “Ellians,” “Yoroshiku Shoujo,” and “Nocturne: On This Grotesque Night,” which are depicted in different worldviews, and are scheduled to be released in 2026. A teaser movie has been released.

Nishigori is an animator who is renowned for his depiction of beautiful girls, having worked on TV anime “THE IDOLM@STER” and “DARLING in the FRANXX” as a director, and participated in the animated film “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time” as a chief animation director and character designer. “GROTESQQQUE” will be animated by CloverWorks, known for “My Dress-Up Darling” and “SPY×FAMILY.”

The teaser movie introduces the keywords and characters of the three works in a condensed form. Q1 “Ellians” features a girl with a pop visual and a mysterious alien-like life form. Q2 “Yoroshikaku★Shoujo” depicts beautiful girls fighting in a shining neon city at night. Q3 “Nocturne: In This Grotesque Night” shows four girls laughing together and, in contrast, girls covered in blood, suggesting a serious yet dark style.
