It has been decided that Ryota Suzuki will play the protagonist, Niiro Agatsuma, in BLACK TORCH, a TV anime adaptation of Takaki Tsuyoshi’s ninja battle action manga. Yoji Ueda, Sayaka Senbongi, and Junya Enoki will also appear. A character PV has also been released, featuring the characters each actor will play with voice.

The original work was serialized in “Jump SQ.” (published by Shueisha) and the manga app “Shonen Jump+” from 2017 to 2018. One day, high school student Niiro Agatsuma, who was raised as a descendant of a ninja and has the ability to talk to animals, meets a wounded black cat that collapses in the forest. The black cat’s true identity is the legendary monster Rago, once known as the “Black Evil Star.” Niiro, who becomes embroiled in a battle with monsters after this encounter, is invited by the government’s secret organization “Public Secret Bureau,” which monitors and eliminates monsters, to become a member of the new unit “Black Torch.” Digital animation studio 100studio will be in charge of animation production for the anime version.

Suzuki plays the main character, Niiro, a high school student who is rough and quick to pick a fight, but at heart is caring and loyal. Ueda will play Rahu, who has lost much of his memory and powers due to his long period of sealing. Senbongi will play Kishimojin Ichika, a female member of the Black Light who harbors strong hostility towards Mononoke and is strict with Niiro, who works with Rahu, while Enoki will play Kirihara Reiji, a new member assigned to the Black Light who is calm, rational and often clashes with the emotional Niiro.
