Hanako-kun 2 Part 2: New Cast & Song

It has been announced that Fukuyama Jun will appear in the second part of the TV anime “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun 2,” which will begin airing on July 6, and that Oishi Masayoshi and Kito Akari will be in charge of the theme song. The second part’s key visual and a 30-second commercial have also been released.

The original work is a popular horror comedy manga by Aidairo, which has been serialized in “G Fantasy” (published by Square Enix) since 2014. Yashiro Nene (CV: Kito Akari) summons the seventh of the seven mysteries of Kamome Academy, “Hanako-san of the Toilet,” in order to find love with the person she admires. Together with Hanako-san’s true identity, Hanako-kun (Ogata Megumi), and the exorcist Minamoto Mitsuru (Chiba Shoya), they struggle to restore the altered rumors of the seven mysteries and strange phenomena to their original state. The first season of the TV anime was broadcast in 2020. The anime restart project started in 2022, and the short anime “After School Boy Hanako-kun” was broadcast from 2013 to 2012, and the first part of the second season “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun 2” was broadcast from January to March 2025.

Fukuyama will play the role of “Shinigami-sama,” the sixth of the Seven Wonders, a supernatural phenomenon that has existed since long before Kamome Academy was founded.

Oishi and Kito, who will be in charge of the theme songs, will continue from the first part. The opening theme song sung by Oishi is titled “Kagome Kagome” and the ending theme song by Kito is “mo∞ent”. Both songs will be released as digital singles on July 6th, the first day of the broadcast.

The key visual shows Hanako-kun protecting Nene from the supernatural, with the copy “Hey, do you know? The story of a bride dedicated to God — the story of the seven school mysteries begins again.” A part of the sound source of “Kagome Kagome” is shown in the 30-second commercial, and Shinigami-sama also appears.

I’ve been chosen to sing the opening theme song for the sequel to “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun”! This time, I’ve written the lyrics, composed the music, arranged it, and sang it! I put a lot of effort into creating this song, hoping to add color to the world of Hanako-kun in a way that’s different from the previous theme songs, so I hope you’ll enjoy it! Thank you!

This time, I was once again in charge of the ending theme for “Hanako-kun.” I think it’s a slightly different song from the more mellow feel of previous songs, but I tried my best to fit in with the worldview of the series while still retaining the atmosphere of the previous songs. Jun Fukuyama Joins as the Mysterious Shinigami-sama
