Kogoro Mouri’s Feats Featured in Shinano Mainichi Shimbun

The movie “Detective Conan: Afterimage of the One-Eyed” is now showing in theaters. Achieving the best opening in the series’ history, the film showcases Kogoro Mouri, who was once known for his “misguided deductions” and clumsy behavior, working tirelessly without sleep to solve the case — a performance that has audiences calling him “so cool!” To celebrate, a special collaboration page with the Shinano Mainichi Shimbun has been released, highlighting Kogoro Mouri’s heroic efforts.

“Detective Conan: Afterimage of the One-Eyed” teams up with the Shinano Mainichi Shimbun to highlight Kogoro Mouri’s remarkable exploits.

The Shinano Mainichi Shimbun, headquartered in Nagano Prefecture—the setting of the film—published a special edition on the morning of the 17th, just before the movie’s release. The headline read, “Shooting Incident Near the Yatsugatake Mountains?” This issue serves as a follow-up to that report, featuring an exclusive interview with Kogoro Mouri after the case is solved, as well as comments from Jun Nishimura, director of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan at Nobeyama, and Shuichi Abe, governor of Nagano Prefecture, making the coverage feel incredibly realistic.

The newspaper is filled with intricate details, including advertisements for the Mouri Detective Agency in Beika Town and Café Poirot, a weather forecast, and even a specially designed newspaper title, making it a must-read for fans. The inside pages are also packed with highlights, such as “The ABCs of Detective Conan,” introductions to episodes featuring the Nagano Prefectural Police, and an interview with the film’s producer.

Parts of this special collaboration issue are also available on the movie’s official website.
