New Character Expressions and Scene Stills Revealed from the Ongoing Animated Film “Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 2 – Fire Rat”

Facial expressions of the main characters—the Medicine Seller, Fuki Tokita, and Botan Otomo—from “Fire Rat” have recently been revealed, along with new scene cuts featuring them. The settings were illustrated by Yuichi Takahashi, the character designer and chief animation director for the film.

“Mononoke” is an original anime that follows a mysterious man known as the Medicine Seller, who calms supernatural phenomena born from human emotions and grudges. The story originated from the “Bakeneko” arc of the 2006 anthology series “Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales” and was later adapted into a standalone TV series in 2007. The film trilogy began with “Mononoke the Movie: Karakasa” in July 2012. The final chapter, “Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 3 – Snake God,” is scheduled for release in spring 2014.
