To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the broadcast of “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing,” a new video “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing -Operation 30th-” was released on the official “Gundam” YouTube channel “Gundam Channel,” and setting drawings of the characters and mobile suits that appear in the video were also revealed. It was also decided that the theatrical anime “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz Special Edition” will be revived as a Dolby Cinema version.
“Mobile Suit Gundam Wing” is the second work in the “Gundam Alternative Series” that aired in 1995, following “Mobile Fighter G Gundam” in 1994. Set in Aftercolony 195, the story follows five boys who are sent from the colony to Earth as part of Operation Meteor, an operation launched to oppose the oppressive United Earth Sphere Alliance. Each boy pilots a high-performance mobile suit, the Gundam, and fights for peace. A sequel, the OVA “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz,” was released in 1997, and a theatrical compilation, “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz Special Edition,” was released in 1998.
